Chuck Tyler
Manager, TyTek Asia

Chuck Tyler - TyTek Industries Manager TyTek AsiaAfter graduating from Denison University, Chuck Tyler took every dime he had and bought a one-way ticket to Taipei. One way was all he needed.

Chuck Tyler earned a BA in Economics from Denison in 2003. Earlier, during the spring semester of 2002, he elected to study abroad in Hong Kong at the highly regarded Chinese University of HK. His choice of Hong Kong was driven by an intense interest in the Asian region and a realization of the ever increasing role China would play in the global market in the years following his graduation. Between studies he visited Vietnam, China and Thailand. Mr. Tyler’s particular choice of location for his study aboard was among the more exotic for Denison students, who typically chose places like the UK, Europe or Australia.

After graduating, he was ready to return to Asia and continue his “education” – not via the traditional graduate school route, but by learning Mandarin via total immersion. Chuck Tyler: “I found a learning environment perfect for me in Taipei, where I took up English teaching jobs and invested my earnings in Mandarin courses at Taipei Language Institute and National Taiwan Normal University.”

In 2006, with more than adequate Mandarin speaking skills, he relocated to Ningbo, China, to open and run TyTek Asia Co. Ltd. His life is there. The only round-trip tickets he buys now are for business travel that always brings him back to China.

Chuck Tyler entered an airplane cockpit for the first time in a Cessna 152 at the age of 13. He soloed on his 16th birthday, actually earning his wings before he got his driver’s license. He was a member of the Denison University Crew Team. His thirst for knowledge and his experiences in China and Asia have proven to be an enormous benefit for TyTek Asia’s clients.
